Discussion

The ChatGPT feature of Apple Intelligence allows DoW information to be downloaded from the DoW iPhone/iPad and processed by the ChatGPT application in the cloud. The ChatGPT feature of Apple Intelligence increases the risk of compromise of sensitive DoW information. SFR ID: FMT_MOF_EXT.1.2 #47

Check Content

Review configuration settings to confirm third-party AI app connections to Apple Intelligence are disabled.

This check procedure is performed on both the MDM server and iPhone or iPad.

Note: If an organization has multiple configuration profiles, the check procedure must be performed on the relevant configuration profiles applicable to the scope of the review.

In the MDM server, verify in the DDM configuration "External Intelligence Settings" that "Allow Integrations" and "Allow Sign In" are both set to "No".

On the iPhone and iPad:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap "General".
3. Tap "VPN & Device Management".
4. Tap the Configuration Profile from the MDM server containing the policy.
5. Tap "Configurations" and then "External Intelligence Settings".
6. Verify "Allow Integrations" and "Allow Sign In" are both set to "No".

If in the MDM server or iPhone/iPad both "Allow Integrations" and "Allow Sign In" are not set to "Yes", this is a finding.

Fix Text

Install a configuration profile to disable all third-party AI app connections for Apple Intelligence.

In the MDM server, set both "Allow Integrations" and "Allow Sign In" to "No" in the Declarative Device Management (DDM) configuration "External Intelligence Settings".
