Unsupported software and systems must not be used because fixes to newly identified bugs will not be implemented by the vendor. The lack of support can result in potential vulnerabilities. Software and systems at unsupported servicing levels or releases will not receive security updates for new vulnerabilities, which leaves them subject to exploitation. When maintenance updates and patches are no longer available, software is no longer considered supported and should be upgraded or decommissioned. 1. Log in to the SSH CLI. 2. Enter "show version". 3. Capture the version number and build (e.g., 6.2.1[12.57800]). 1. Log in to the AviatCloud Support Portal at www.aviatcloud.com. 2. Once logged in, click the "software packages" tile. 3. Filter by product (e.g., WTM 4000). If the software version currently installed is not version 6.x or later and currently supported by the vendor, this is a finding.
1. Log in to the AviatCloud Support Portal at www.aviatcloud.com. 2. Once logged in, click the "software packages" tile. 3. Filter by product (e.g., WTM 4000). 4. Download the latest supported version that is version 6.x or later (e.g., 6.2.1[12.57800]). 5. Once downloaded, log in to the Web UI. 6. Navigate to Admin >> Software Management. 7. Under software upgrade, click "local file". 8. Under choose file, select the install file downloaded from AviatCloud. 9. Under Activation, select "Immediately". 10. Under "Configuration", select "Keep". 11. Click "Start" to begin the upgrade. During the upgrade process the image will be checked for its checksum before installing. Note: Version 6.x supports DoW-mandated FIPS and HMAC algorithms.
